Terms and conditions
Steadyfact — version of 4 September 2026
This is an English translation of our Dutch terms and conditions (steadyfact.com/nl/terms). If the two differ, the Dutch text prevails.
1. Who and what for
These terms apply to every use of steadyfact.com and the associated service of Steadyfact ("we"), a company established in the Netherlands. Contact: support@steadyfact.com. If you enter into the agreement on behalf of a team or organisation, you declare that you are authorised to do so; team members are likewise bound by these terms when they use the service.
2. The service
Steadyfact is a hosted knowledge base of markdown notes that you can connect to your own AI assistant. We provide the service with care and to the best of our ability, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change and improve the service; we will not remove core functionality without reasonable notice.
3. Your account
You sign in with a code sent by email; there are no passwords. Keep your mailbox secure — whoever can access your email can access your account. You are responsible for what happens through your account and your connected assistants. The owner of a team manages the members and their access.
4. Subscriptions and payment
The current prices and limits are listed on steadyfact.com. Payments and invoicing go through our payment partner Polar, which as merchant of record is the seller; its terms also apply to the payment. Subscriptions can be cancelled per period and stop at the end of the current period. We announce price changes in advance and they only take effect from the next period. When a paid plan ends, your knowledge base remains readable and fully exportable; writing is possible again once the subscription has been resumed or within the limits of the free plan.
5. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day cooling-off period. The service starts immediately after you sign up; if you cancel within the cooling-off period, you pay only pro rata for the period already provided. You can withdraw via support@steadyfact.com or via the payment partner.
6. Your content
What you put in your knowledge base is and remains yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to provide the service (storing, displaying, indexing, backing up). We do not use your content to train AI models and do not sell it. You yourself warrant that your content is lawful and does not infringe the rights of others. Exporting (ZIP or to your own git repository) is always possible, including on the free plan.
7. Processing arrangements (Article 28 GDPR)
For personal data in the content of your knowledge base, we are the processor and you (or your organisation) are the controller. This article counts as the data processing agreement:
- We process this data solely to provide the service and in accordance with your instructions through the product, and for no purpose of our own.
- Persons who have access on our side are bound by confidentiality; access for support is limited and is logged.
- We take appropriate technical and organisational measures, as described in the privacy policy.
- We only engage sub-processors that bear comparable obligations; the current list is in the privacy policy and we announce changes, after which you may cancel if you object.
- We help you within reasonable limits with requests from data subjects and with your own GDPR obligations, and report a personal data breach without undue delay.
- After the end of the agreement you can export everything; after that we erase the data in accordance with the retention periods in the privacy policy.
- Once a year you may ask in writing for demonstrable compliance.
8. Use
Not permitted: unlawful use, infringement of the rights of others, abuse of the service and deliberately overloading it. We may apply reasonable technical limits to protect the service for everyone, and in the event of serious abuse suspend access after we have — where reasonably possible — warned you first.
9. Availability and data
We make daily backups and host within the EU. Even so: an online service can fail. Make sure you have your own export of data that you do not want to lose under any circumstances; the git connection does this automatically if you wish.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event, or €100 if you use a free plan. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit or loss of data of which you had no export. These limitations do not apply in the case of intent or wilful recklessness, and do not affect mandatory consumer rights.
11. Termination
You can stop at any time and delete your account yourself. We may terminate the agreement in the event of serious or repeated abuse, or when we discontinue the service — in the latter case with a period of at least 30 days to export your data.
12. Changes
We may change these terms. We announce important changes at least 30 days in advance; if you do not wish to agree, you can cancel before the effective date. The current version is at steadyfact.com/terms.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent Dutch court; if you are a consumer, you retain the court that has jurisdiction under the law.
